JoAnn Bruhn is an accomplished, impassioned Speaker and Educator in the field of grief and loss. She is an inspired Musician/Composer as well as a nationally distributed Author. She also works as an Intuitive/Psychic/Medium.  She lives in Minnesota in the suburbs of St. Paul. Her family includes two adult sons.   Besides a 21 year career as a healthcare professional, she has moved into the field that is at the heart of her passion, helping others. In 1995 her youngest son, Craig Schermerhorn, died at age 10 from complications of leukemia. Craig’s death, life-shattering in its own right, was one of many losses which propelled her onto a journey of grief, healing, and a profound spiritual transformation. It has become her deepest desire to share the resources she has found to help others deal with their pain and grief issues and move beyond the grief to recovery. She shares her incredible gifts of songwriting and musical performance. The songs she writes are powerful tapestries of interwoven tones which tend to inspire the listener toward higher levels of peace and elation. The song “Sundance” came to JoAnn three days after Craig’s funeral as a gift to help her heal. When she discovered that others were deeply moved when they heard the song, she became inspired to record the song and create a book to honor Craig’s life. The song and book are “Sundance, The Story Of Craig.” They share the theme of love, life on earth, dying, and then moving on to the beautiful afterlife. Her passions and purposes remain rooted in humanitarian service as she brings her special gifts to the world.

After a 12 year “sabbatical” I have decided to dust off my piano teacher hat! I will be accepting a limited number of students. I am an experienced teacher with a conservatory level training in classical piano as well as several years of study in jazz piano. My skills and talents in composing and improvising will provide an exciting edge over typical “classical” type lessons. My intent for each student is to blend both classical and jazz styles, thereby creating a satisfying and challenging experience in musical education. References are available upon request.
